Taulis is a small leather workshop located on the central coast of California in San Luis Obispo, CA. Each product is made with dedication and attention to detail that can only be achieved through utilizing time honored leather working traditions. We take pride in our craft, and each piece that we create has its own character.
We believe in owning meaningful things that become important parts of their owners personal story. Our products are meant to grow and change as they are used, taking on the experiences that they have had. Leathercraft has been my passion for over a decade, beginning with my former company, JAW Leather Goods. Taulis is a new chapter, focusing more on simple designs, made well. It all starts with the leather.
Italian vegetable tanned leathers are the cornerstone of our leather arsenal for several reasons. The traditional tanning methods still produce the most beautiful leathers, and vegetable tanned leather wears in and develops a unique patina that chrome tanned leathers can’t usually match.
